Wallenius Wilhelmsen Adds South American Service

May 5, 2009
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics launched a new roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) ocean connection from North America to Peru and Ecuador.

A new Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) service will call once per month at Guayaquil (GYQ), Ecuador; and Callao (CAO), Peru. South America's economy attracts a variety of RoRo cargo, from vehicles to agricultural, construction, mining and factory equipment, says John Felitto, executive vice president WWL Region Americas. “Our service will be an important new option for forwarders, shippers and OEMs looking to improve their current service, or searching for new markets. This service will also help South American exporters meet their transportation needs.”

This new service will directly connect cargo from WWL's US East Coast ports (Baltimore and Savannah) to Ecuador and Peru. Transshipment cargo will also be accepted from US Gulf Coast (Galveston), US West Coast (Long Beach and Tacoma), Mexico (VER), Panama (MAO), Venezuela (PBL), Colombia (CTG), Brazil (RIG/SSZ/VIT) and Argentina (ZAE), as well as Asian, Australian and European ports.
