Global container transportation company APL has won the award for Best Intra-Asia Shipping Line for 2004 at the 18th Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCAs).
The awards are presented by leading trade publication Cargonews Asia to those carriers that readers vote outstanding achievers in all major transportation and logistics sectors in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Before casting their votes, the 13,000 Cargonews Asia readers are asked to consider a range of criteria, including schedule integrity; effectiveness of IT, efficiency, the professionalism of customer service, and port calls.
This is the fourth year in row that NOL Group companies have been recognized by the readers of Cargonews Asia. In 2001, APL was also named top Intra-Asia carrier. The following year saw sister company APL Logistics pick up two awards for best ocean and multimodal freight forwarder. In 2003, APL received the Best Trans-Pacific Shipping Line award.
