Cascade Hydraulic Force Control

Cascade Corp. introduces HFC (hydraulic force control), a new damage reduction option for paper roll clamps.

Excessive clamp force caused by too much hydraulic pressure is one of the most common causes of damage to paper rolls, says Cascade.

To help reduce this problem, the company offers HFC, which uses the hydraulics of the lift truck to automatically control clamp force proportional to load weight. It frees the operator from having to determine the correct pressure settings for different roll sizes.

The system, which mounts onto the cowl of a lift truck, continually senses the hydraulic pressure necessary to lift the load and adjusts clamping pressure as the weight of the load changes. HFC requires connections to the hoist, clamp and open lines. It works with both split- and solid-arm clamps.
