HOUSTON—A 26-year-old lift truck used at a soybean farming company in rural Minnesota was named the winner of Mitsubishi’s “Keeps on Running” pageant, which awards the oldest operational Mitsubishi lift truck in the United States.
The winning vehicle was a 1982 FGC25 Mitsubishi used by Prescher Willette Seeds, soybean farming company in Delavan, Minnesota. As a result of the contest, Prescher Willette Seeds receives a brand new FGC25N Mitsubishi to join its existing fleet.
“We currently have two Mitsubishi forklift trucks that are more than 20 years old, and we run them hard, especially in our busy spring and fall seasons,” said Mike Hughes, plant manager of Prescher Willette Seed.
Bought as used, the 5,000 pound capacity Mitsubishi lift truck had been a demo. If new, it would have cost the seed company about $15,000 to purchase.
The “Keeps on Running” contest ran from August to November 2008 and was open to customers who owned and currently operated a small Internal Combustion (IC) cushion tire Mitsubishi lift truck, with a capacity range of 2,000lbs to 6,500lbs.
