NACCO Materials Handling Group Inc. (NMHG, Portland, Ore.) announced it has deployed the Wireless Asset Net fleet management system from I.D. Systems at its U.S. parts distribution center in Danville, Ill.
The fleet management system will help control, track and analyze industrial trucks and operators. Pat DeSutter, director of operations at the NMHG parts distribution center, says the system will help identify hidden costs associated with downtime and idle capital.
Additionally, DeSutter explains that operator checklists will be managed electronically to ensure compliance with OSHA rules. By having access to real-time information about issues identified on checklists, the distribution center will then be able to respond quickly to potential problems.
