Oak Brook, IL – As the only professional organization focused exclusively on warehouse management, the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) is always searching for new programs and information to enhance the services it provides to the industry. The newest program is WERC's Warehousing Industry Resources Event (WIRE), a product and service showcase, debuting at its upcoming 27th annual conference in Atlanta. Scheduled for Sunday, May 16, 2004, 3:00 to 7:00 pm, WIRE focuses on Education, Information & Contacts.
That focus mirrors the results of a recent study, conducted for the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) by an independent organization, which confirmed that prospective buyers believe face-to-face interaction with knowledgeable experts is important. Specifically, 76% of attendees rate face-to-face interaction with potential suppliers as very important and 70% rate face-to-face interaction with current suppliers as very important. CEIR's study also showed that 76% of attendees particularly value building awareness of new products, services or solutions at such an event and 67% of them find it very important in evaluating vendors.
WERC is now accepting applications from suppliers to participate in the Industry Resources Event. Each supplier receives one completely decorated 8' x 10' booth and a complimentary registration to the annual conference as part of the participation package. Pending space availability, applications from industry suppliers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis though March 31, 2004.
"We believe WIRE will provide productive, quality time for our attendees and industry suppliers to communicate in a relaxed business environment," says Rita Coleman, acting executive director and senior director education and research for WERC.
