NAPLES, Fla.—The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its booked orders index for August decreased 1% from July’s index. However, the August 2007 index represented an increase of 15% from the August index last year.
For bulk handling equipment, the August booked orders index was 215, and for unit handling equipment, it was 112, according to CEMA.
The 12-month index in August represented a 1% increase from July’s 12-month index, added CEMA.
CEMA’s shipments index in August was up 9% from the index in July 2007 but represented a decrease of 3% from the August 2006 index.
