    3M RFID-Enabled Respirators

    3M’s occupational health and environmental safety division introduces respirators equipped with RFID tags and software that employers can use to monitor respirator inspections, cleaning and maintenance.

    According to 3M, the Smart Safety Management System is the first of its kind in the safety market. Companies use the track-and-trace RFID technology and software to verify that employees are cleaning and maintaining safety equipment as required.

    The electronic recordkeeping system eliminates the need for manual maintenance activity reports, notes 3M.
