Retailer Tests Lift Truck RFID Sensor System

HUDSON, N.H.—A “major retailer” has invested more than $750,000 to conduct a beta test of a lift truck-mounted RFID antenna sensor system from Micronetics Inc.

In making the announcement, Micronetics does not reveal the name of the retailer or brand of lift truck. However, the company says the system interfaces with the retailer’s warehouse management system to streamline material moves and increase throughput.

"We anticipate a successful transition from beta to full production rollout within six to nine months after the completion of the beta testing,” says Kevin Beals, president.

In March, Micronetics acquired the pedestal and lift truck-mounted RFID product line of M/A-COM RFID Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cobham plc.
