Arlington, VA, - The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) is issuing a call for presentations for the Conference at PACK EXPO to be held in conjunction with PACK EXPO International scheduled for November 7-11, 2004 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.
Packaging professionals with engineering, production, operations titles interested in offering TECHNOLOGY-FOCUSED, NON-COMMERCIAL presentations relating to the conference topics outlined below are invited to submit abstracts of their proposed presentations to Samara Wolf, program coordinator, PMMI, at [email protected] no later than April 9, 2004. Please include speaker contact information (name, title, company, address, phone/fax/email).
Conference management and an advisory panel composed of packaging professionals will evaluate the proposals in terms of the technical, scientific and production data presented or trends covered and their interest to an audience of packaging professionals. The advisory committee is acting on behalf of conference attendees who are NOT interested in "sales pitches," but are looking for informed, insightful, technical analyses and market experiences.
PLEASE NOTE: Proposals for "first-party presentations" - that is, presentations about technologies, products or services available from the presenter's company - will NOT be accepted. Proposals for presentations on specific commercial developments made by USERS of those developments will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Conference management and the Conference at PACK EXPO advisory committee will consider proposals for presentations not related to the conference topics listed only if, in their view, the proposals would be of particular value/interest to conference attendees.

Presentation proposals should be no longer than 500 words long and should:
Include an outline or overview of the proposed topic.
Identify speaker(s), title(s), organization affiliation(s) and background(s) of the individuals who will make the presentation.
Please Note: Proposals that include packaging end users as presenters/co-presenters will be given preferential consideration.
