In the Bulk Conveying area, orders were up 15.6% and shipments were up 0.6%. Unit Handling orders were up 23.1% and shipments were down 5.9%.
CEMA tracks new orders and shipped sales volume in seven classes of unit handling equipment and five classes of bulk handling equipment.
The executives representing CEMA member companies who attended the Fall Meeting expressed cautious optimism and were forecasting a 2% increase in shipments for 2010 (unchanged from March 2010 forecast). CEMA President, Bill Pugh announced the results at the Association’s Fall Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
