The 2002 Medium Duty Truck Engine Customer Satisfaction Study asked about engine quality and reliability, performance and controls, noise and vibration and fuel economy. Of the 2,253 owners surveyed, 90% own conventional diesel vehicles, the remainder own cab-overs. These medium duty trucks are Class 5, 6 and 7. Jim McReynolds, General Manger of Caterpillar’s On-Highway Engine Department, said, “Recognition from our customers and J.D. Power and Associates is a gratifying reflection of our dedication to technology and product quality.”
