Associated Material Handling Sponsors Student Lounge

Oct. 12, 2009
Associated Material Handling is funding a new student lounge at the Glendale Heights, Ill., campus of Universal Technical Institute (UTI).

Associated has hired UTI graduates as field service technicians for many years. To help educate the next generation of students about careers in material handling, Associated is sponsoring a new community space at UTI. Students will have access to nine workstations, Internet access, wireless capabilities, a learning center and flat-screen TVs.

“We are grateful to Associated for generously sponsoring the lounge, which gives our students a great place to study and relax,” says Pat Kellen, campus president of UTI Glendale Heights. “This is just another example of how the strong relationships UTI has across all the industries it serves enhances our students’ experience and training and provides diverse career opportunities for graduates.”

“For the students and the academic community in general we hope this student lounge will create awareness for an industry in which the career opportunities are endless,” adds Michael B. Romano, president and CEO of Associated Material Handling.
