Association for Manufacturing Technology Gets New President

May 14, 2009
McLEAN, Va.—The board of directors for the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) has elected Douglas K. Woods as president.

Woods was president of Parlec Inc., a company specializing in tooling, work holding and presetting. Prior to that post, he was president of Parlec International.

Woods was a member of AMT’s board of directors from 2000 to 2008 and was its chairman from 2005-2006. He was also chairman of the committee for AMT’s custom automated systems group.

Woods brings a wealth of manufacturing experience to AMT, having worked at small tool and die shops as well as multibillion-dollar machine tool corporations.

“We are very pleased that Doug has agreed to take on this challenge,” says Ron Schildge, chairman of the AMT board of directors. “His experience and commitment to this industry will serve AMT and its members well in these challenging times.”
