Con-Way President and CEO Gerald Detter told Logistics Today its no-cost on-time guarantee program required on-line filing for claims as an inducement for shippers to use the company's Web site. That announcement, which came September 3rd was followed on September 15th with a $2 incentive for shippers to file electronic bills of lading via the Con-Way Web site.

The incentive covers shippers throughout the U.S. and Canada. A $2 invoice deduction will automatically appear following the net negotiated price on the shipper's invoice for each electronic bill of lading filed.

The program is effective October 1st and runs through March 31, 2004.

To qualify, shippers must be registered users of the Web site. All electronic bills of lading must be submitted by 2 p.m. and be ready for pick up by 5 p.m. the same day. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) transactions are not eligible for the incentive. www.con-way.com
