Conveyor Sales Numbers Up from 2009

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its September 2010 Booked Orders Index was 162, up 34 points or 27% from August 2010’s Index of 128, and an increase of 38% from the September 2009 Index of 117.

The September Booked Orders Indexes were 219 for Bulk Handling Equipment and 145 for Unit Handling Equipment. The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 127 in September, an increase of 3% from August 2010’s Twelve-Month Index of 123.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 143 in September, a decrease of 12% from August 2010’s Index of 163. The September 2010 Index represents an increase of 31% from the September 2009 Index of 109.

September Billed Sales Indexes were 231 for Bulk Handling Equipment and 125 for Unit Handling Equipment. The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 121 in September, an increase of 3% from August 2010’s Twelve-Month Index of 118.
