GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Dematic Corp. has added live demonstrations of voice-directed activities, put-to-light, pick-to-light, pick carts, RF picking, and WCS software to its Order Fulfillment Lab, a place where visitors can go to compare technologies and make educated decisions about which products are best for their applications.

The pick-to-light and put-to-light modules demonstrate high-volume, split-case order picking, while the voice-directed picking, pick carts and RF picking showcase order fulfillment for medium- to low-velocity SKUs. All picking technologies are supported by Dematic's PickDirector software, according to the company.

"Densely located, fast-moving SKUs might be better suited to use light-directed technology, while medium- and slow-moving inventory may use voice-directed technology—all operating on one integrated software platform," said George Feigley, manager of software services for Dematic.
