Last month Frost & Sullivan named Siemens (Munich and New York) its 2006 Company of the Year. Frost & Sullivan, a global consulting firm based in San Antonio, presented the award in recognition of Siemens' automation solutions that it provides to the automotive industry.

"The wide scope of Siemens' portfolio encompasses solutions for all processes within the automotive industry that address specific customer issues," said Sanjeev R Sridharan, Frost & Sullivan research analyst, in a written statement. "With its latest thrust on RFID, Siemens has truly established itself as the market leader in the automations space for the automotive industry."

Additionally, Frost & Sullivan commended Siemens for addressing the challenge of developing worldwide industry standards for the automotive industry by providing customers with a single hardware platform for diverse manufacturing applications.

"It's a great honor to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for our automation solutions for the automotive industry," said Raj Batra, vice president, automotive, Siemens Energy & Automation. "This award is a tribute to our dedication in providing customers with highest levels of technology and service."

The Award was presented to Siemens AG on April 26, 2006, at Frost & Sullivan's 2006 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Awards Banquet in Orlando.
