Since 2006, several Hamilton customers, including Northrop Grumman and Harley Davidson, have consulted the company’s Web site to use PARTcatalog, which allows them to view and configure products online as well as download detailed computer-aided design (CAD) files.
Now, Hamilton has embedded the PARTsolution 3D part catalog directly into the product pages on its Web site and moved catalog modeling in house by licensing the PARTcatalog software. As a result, Hamilton engineers will be able to develop and maintain their own 3D catalogs for the company’s line of heavy-duty industrial casters, stainless-steel casters, caster wheels and polyurethane wheels.
The move will allow CAD to play a more important role as managers review and select products, Hamilton says.
