Vernon Hills, IL – Loren G. Swakow, Vice President of Scott Lift Truck Corporation located in Elk Grove Village, IL, has been elected the 50th President of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA). MHEDA ( http://www.mheda.org) is the only international trade association dedicated solely to improving the proficiency of the independent material handling equipment distributor. MHEDA represents nearly 700 companies in the material handling equipment business. Located in suburban Chicago, the association provides services to companies seeking to improve their business through education, training, and information sharing.

Swakow, who graduated from Carthage College, Kenosha, WI, did his MBA work at Northern Illinois University. He joined Scott Lift Truck in 1977 when it was a small independent dealership with only 8 employees. Scott Lift Truck now serves customers in 38 states.
