Intermec Inc. (Everett, Wash.), a manufacturer of RFID technology, has been selected to supply RFID hardware to Microsoft Technology Centers throughout the United States. Microsoft Technology Centers allow enterprises and independent software vendor (ISV) customers to envision, architect and evaluate technology solutions before buying and deploying them in their own IT environment.

Intermec’s CV60 vehicle-mounted computers, IV7 vehicle-mounted RFID readers and IA33E RFID antennas are available for use in real-world RFID scenarios at Microsoft Technology Centers in Austin, Reston, Va., Chicago, Boston, Silicon Valley and New York. Microsoft selected Intermec for its RFID technology and thought leadership, its commitment to the Microsoft platform, and Intermec RFID hardware interoperability with the Microsoft BizTalk RFID platform.

“Intermec has a deep and broad understanding of RFID and its value to the retail, industrial, transportation and logistics customer, so they were a natural choice to bring the technology to Center visitors,” said Microsoft Technology Center Alliance Senior Program Manager John Mathieu.

“Intermec worked with us to test and refine Microsoft BizTalk RFID and was an early adopter of the platform. Our combined technologies offer Center visitors hard evidence of the power and flexibility a well-executed RFID solution can deliver.”
