AKRON, Ohio – The new Industrial Wheel Lock Ring Tool Set (#32129) from Ken-Tool is designed to help tire technicians safely, easily and quickly remove and replace split lock rings on multi-piece industrial forklift wheels.

Having the right tool really does make a difference when changing tires on forklifts or other material handling vehicles that have wheels with split lock rings. Until now, removing and replacing the split lock rings on multi-piece industrial wheels was difficult and potentially dangerous. This unique tool set is Patent Pending and helps to prevent injury by keeping the technicians’ hands safe from harm and outside the tire press cage at all times.

The kit comes with two tools: Using the Demount Prep Tool, Item #32131, the technician inserts the Separator End of the tool between ends of the split lock ring and the solid flange ring. This part of the tool helps break the rings free from each other especially when they are rusty or dirty, and then allows a gap to form between the rings. The Pry-out End of the tool reaches behind the slotted end of the split lock ring to pry it out and over the flange of the wheel. Next, the Mount/Demount Tool, Item #32130 finishes the job. The Demount End of the tool lifts and fully demounts the split lock ring, and the Mounting End easily sets the new split lock ring in place after a new tire has been installed.

Both pieces are made in the U.S.A. of high-grade carbon steel and are heat-treated for long-lasting strength and durability. The tools are powder coated to protect them from rust and corrosion, and their bright orange color helps prevent leaving them behind when doing service work at the customer’s facility. The Mount/Demount Tool is 15-¾” long and weighs 1.8 pounds. The Demount Prep Tool is 15-½” long and weighs just 1.5 pounds.
