The Suez Canal Container Terminal S.A.E. (SCCT), www.scctportsaid.com is a private joint venture company developing a container hub on the recently dredged eastern bypass of the Suez Canal. When complete, the 600,00 sq meter container terminal will have annual throughput capacity of 2.6 million TEU (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units), with a 1,200 meter long quay. Among other amenities will be 12 Super Post-Panamax cranes and on-dock rail.
SCCT has selected TOPS, the Terminal Operations Productivity Solution from Global Transportation Solutions, LLC (GTS), (www.gts-llc.com) for implementation at the new facility.
TOPS will provide a full range of management capabilities, ranging from yard, vessel, berth, container handling equipment and gate management through security and access control, to interfaces for financial systems, radio data terminals and GPS systems.
