Psion Teklogix Inc. has opened an office in Tokyo, Japan. The new office will enable the company to meet the growing demand for mobile computing solutions in the Japanese market, while strengthening the company's overall presence in the Asia Pacific region.

Productivity and customer service have become increasingly important business drivers in a variety of industries and market sectors in the region. This, coupled with the improved economic situation in the Asia Pacific region, presents Psion Teklogix with an opportunity to grow its current business.

The expansion into Japan follows the successful opening of an office in Shanghai, China, in 2003. The company saw revenues increase significantly in this new market in its first year of operation. Psion Teklogix sees strong growth potential in the Asia Pacific market, and has designed its newest rugged mobile computing products to include Asian requirements, such as character set.

"The Asia-Pacific region is an area of major investment and opportunity for Psion Teklogix," said Dominique H. Binckly, senior VP, global solutions and business development, Psion Teklogix Inc. "Psion Teklogix is committed to strengthening our global position in the mobile computing market and our expansion into Japan is a natural fit for our organization."

Kazuo Aoki, representative sales director (Japan), Psion Teklogix, will lead the Japan office, providing local expertise and sales leadership. Kazuo brings a diverse background of both domestic and international management experience.
