Development and deployment of RosettaNet standards will focus, too, on adherence with governmental regulations, consideration of security issues and simplifying complexities in present supply chain models.

Already part of the RosettaNet Global Logistics Council as founding members are Cisco, DHL, Exel, FedEx, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Menlo Logistics, Portnet Singapore, Texas Instruments and UPS. The Council seeks to integrate member IT systems with those of their customers. To enable companies, suppliers and third party providers to communicate more effectively, the Council will promote adoption and implementation of the RosettaNet standards. “The RosettaNet community has long recognized the need for a strategic and coordinated approach to addressing logistics issues in the supply chain,” notes RosettaNet president and CEO, Jennifer Hamilton. “By consolidating independent logistics initiatives under a common leadership structure, RosettaNet can deliver added value to its members and the industry at large.” Visit www.rosettanet.org
