OAK BROOK, Ill.—Several organizations in the material handling industry have partnered with the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) to help provide humanitarian relief agencies with supply chain resources. Among them are The Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) and Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA).

As we face the aftermath of Gustav and another potentially historic hurricane season, these organizations and ALAN are prepared to help and we ask for your immediate assistance. You can access the In-Kind Donations Portal from the ALAN Website right now at
www.ALANAID.org.

It's an easy way to Donate Now.

• First, click the “Donate Now” button on the home page and you’ll be directed to the ALAN portal on the Aidmatrix Network, a global supply chain for humanitarian relief. This partnership provides us with real-time visibility into the specific items needed for donation as posted by the State Emergency Management Offices and the State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).

• Second, click the link under “Product Donations” to view the needs. You can make in-kind donations to match these needs or you can make unsolicited donation offers -- both directly through the site. It’s all done electronically, helping to reduce the paperwork so the agencies can focus on the relief work.

• Thank you for your help. We hope you find this service a valuable addition to our offering.

• By visiting www.alanaid.org, potential donors can view a list of specific items needed as posted by the State Emergency Management Offices and the State Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. Users can also access the ALAN Web site through associations' Web sites.
