FORTUNE magazine has named Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO, Irvine, Calif.) to its top 50 list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” for the second consecutive year.

TICO is ranked the 28th most admired company in the world, moving up from last year’s position at number 36. TICO achieved an additional honor, earning the number-one spot in the motor vehicle parts industry ranking, also for the second consecutive year.

TOYOTA is a supplier of lift trucks in the U.S. and worldwide. The majority of lift trucks sold in the United States by TICO’s subsidiary, Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU, www.toyotamaterialhandling.com.

) are manufactured at the Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (TIEM) Columbus, Ind. plant.

“TOYOTA is honored to be recognized among this list of global leaders,” said Shankar Basu, president and CEO of TMHU. “We are thankful to our customers, dealers and associates for their role in helping TOYOTA earn this impressive ranking. Looking forward, we remain committed to excel in the areas highlighted in this survey – environment, innovation and quality of products and services.”

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) also was featured in the FORTUNE survey, rated number-two on the “World’s Most Admired Companies” list.

FORTUNE created a list of 347 companies in 27 industries with revenues greater than $8 billion. Hay Group sent surveys to executives and directors at those companies, as well as to analysts. Respondents were asked to rate companies in their industry on a scale of zero to 10, on nine different attributes including: innovation, use of corporate assets, globalness, quality of management, people management, financial soundness, long-term investment, community/environment and quality of products/services. The average of those scores was used for country and industry rankings. Respondents also were asked to rank their top ten companies across all industries. The All-Star list is based on that result.
