A European website, YourTechTV.com, offers a place for companies to post promotional and educational videos. The more interesting and unique, or amusing and zany, the more viewers they attract. A search under the keyword "logistics" offers a look at how Rolls Royce builds aircraft engines, the Ford supply chain, plus a slideshow featuring two-wheeled methods for transporting goods in the third world.
Danaher Motion recently posted a video of a unique application using automated guided vehicles and voice technology for case picking. The application, commissioned by E&K Automation GmbH at a distribution center operated by Marktkauf Logistik, eliminates the need for pickers to climb on and off of lift trucks. Check it out.
