Chinese media reported Taiwan will allow Taiwan-based companies to use special cargo charters to Mainland China on a case-by-case basis. The flights are initially restricted to six airlines operating 168 round-trip flights per year and dedicated cargo flights on a case-by-case basis.

The easing of restrictions on flights between Taiwan and Mainland China breaks an embargo that has been in place since 1949.
