APICS Launches Supply Chain Career Center

Sept. 8, 2015
New supply chain resource aims to narrow skills gap through a library of career advice and personalized career coaching.

APICS, a professional association for supply chain and operations management, has launched a new Career Center tool to unite supply chain candidates with the companies that need them.

It’s reported that nearly 3.5 million manufacturing jobs need to be filled over the next decade. The skills gap is expected to result in 2 million of those jobs remaining unfilled. The new APICS Career Center is designed for companies looking to elevate their supply chain through strategic hires, and provides job seekers with access to expert advice via career coaching, open positions, as well as courses and other career resources.

The goal of the Career Center is to address two of the key challenges in supply chain today – developing supply chain talent and improving supply chain performance, explains Abe Eshkenazi, APICS’s CEO.

Designed to help professionals across a variety of specialties, including operations management, production, inventory, logistics and purchasing, the new APICS Career Center tool provides members with access to:

Content Library – Career resources hand-picked by supply chain experts, with topics ranging from interviewing tips to effective resumes and cover letters, to finding the job that best fits each individual.

Career Coaching – Personal career coaches that assist with resume development, interviewing, networking, organization research, salary negotiation, as well as long-term career planning. Career coaches are trained in all areas of career development and transition and can help professionals identify values, interests, personal preferences, abilities, accomplishments, and work style.

Ask the Expert Feature – Access to APICS’s career experts who quickly answer a variety of career-oriented questions.

Career Center Job Board – Insight into the latest industry job openings with the option to apply through the APICS Career Center. In addition, employers can post jobs to find the ideal candidates.
