While Oracle's long and noisy take over of rival PeopleSoft has dominated the merger and acquisition news in the popular press, the past few months have been unusually frantic with significant moves involving major supply chain and logistics solution providers. Infor Global Solutions (which until recently was known as Agilisys) has been particularly acquisitive, having picked up three well-known vendors in the past couple months — MAPICS, Mercia Software and Lilly Software.

According to analyst firm AMR Research Inc., the enterprise resource planning (ERP) arena has shifted so significantly that the six biggest players in the market now are SAP, Oracle, Best Software (Sage), Microsoft Business Solutions, SSA Global and Infor.

The following scorecard highlights all significant corporate moves in the technology sector since our last update in the November 2004 Logistics Today.
