The addition of an all-water joint service between Hapag-Lloyd Container Line and NYK Line will enhance growing trade between the U.S. East Coast and South America, says Doug Marchant, executive director of the Georgia Ports Authority.

The Hapag-Lloyd Brazil East Coast Express Service (BEX) and NYK Line Atlantic North South Service (ANS) will call at the Port of Savannah, and will initially consist of three vessels with every-other-week, fixed-day sailings. Sailing frequency will increase to weekly during late summer.

Port rotation includes New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Miami, Kingston, Sao Francisco do Sul, Santos, Sepetiba, Puerto Sucre (Venezuela) and New York.
