Involved at all ports is installation of SST software and automatic identification technology to provide end-to-end visibility into ocean shipments. Accounting for almost half of all shipments from Europe to the U.S., the Ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Felixstowe (in the U.K.) now have “real-time visibility of shipment locations and status, physical security, automated and non-intrusive detection of security, and a complete audit trail of the container’s journey from origin to destination,” according to Hutchinson Port Holdings (HPH) which manages most operations at the ports.

The major container terminal operator in Mainland China and in Hong Kong, China Merchants Holdings International is installing SST technology at the Port of Shenszen, while HPH is doing the same at the Port of Yantian which is within the Shenszen trading region. This region is experiencing rapid growth in its shipment of containers to the U.S.

With more than 60 partners in the consortium, SST now has visibility into 65% of all containers being shipped to the U.S.
