Promoting Export for Small U.S. Businesses

The Commerce Department’s U.S. Commercial Service conducts thousands of trade events and hopes, through a new cooperative agreement with FedEx Corp., to boost export sales for U.S.-based businesses. Through its extensive network, the carrier offers end-to-end export resources for business.

The two entities are linking their web sites, and, and are seeking to increase cooperative efforts through potential joint export promotion seminars, sales force training and direct marketing campaigns.

“Some 95% of the world’s consumers are outside the U.S.,” notes Rhonda Keenum, Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion and Director-General of the U.S. Commercial Service, “and by combining our export resources, FedEx and the Commercial service will make it easier for U.S. exporters to establish and grow their international sales.”
