Yellow Transportation (Overland Park, Kans.) plans to sponsor the No. 70 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet of Johnny Sauter in the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season. Yellow, which celebrates its 10th season in NASCAR in 2007, has teamed with Sauter since 2005; together they joined Haas CNC Racing in 2006 where Team Yellow finished eighth in the NASCAR Busch Series championship standings. Making the steady progression from the Craftsman Truck Series to the NASCAR Busch Series, Yellow now looks to NASCAR’s premier class to further evolve their race program.

“Given the proven business-building power of our racing program, the move to NASCAR’s Nextel Cup Series makes solid sense for Yellow Transportation.” said Maynard F. Skarka, president, Yellow Transportation. “It is an exciting way to kick off our tenth season in NASCAR. We expect the increased visibility and prestige of the Nextel Cup to help us achieve even stronger business results.”

In addition to their commitment at the Cup level, Yellow returns as title sponsor of the Busch Series race at Kansas Speedway in 2007. The Yellow 300 will take place on Saturday, September 29.

“Johnny [Sauter] is a talented driver who has connected very well with Yellow employees and customers during the past two years,” said Rick Mathews, v.p., corporate and premium services. “We are confident he is the right driver to represent Team Yellow Racing in this move forward.”
