Hamilton Caster has introduced DuraGlide, a polyurethane tread wheel series. Designed for extra heavy loads, the new wheel features 1” thick tread of dynamically responsive polyurethane molded to a heavy duty cast iron core.
Heat buildup is the primary cause of failure for most poly wheels, so engineers specially formulated DuraGlide to run much cooler than other polys. The thicker 1” tread reduces heat stress on the bond line and lowers the internal stresses of the material. Engineers also formulated the polyurethane to be less susceptible to damaging ultraviolet rays and essentially impervious to moisture.
DuraGlide wheels are suitable for applications in the heavy manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, military, ground support, and food manufacturing industries.
The new wheel is offered in various sizes including 6, 8, 10, and 12 inch diameters with load capacities ranging from 1600-8000 lbs. per wheel. The wheels feature maintenance-free double sealed precision ball bearings; optionally tapered roller bearings, straight/needle-type, and plain shaft with keyways for drive applications are available.
