ATLANTA – May 21, 2003 – Ross Systems (NASDAQ: ROSS), a leading global provider of enterprise software solutions for manufacturers, today announced that Achilles USA, a subsidiary of Japan’s Achilles Corporation and a major manufacturer of plastic film, has selected Ross’ iRenaissance as its enterprise-wide application infrastructure to automate business and production processes.

Achilles USAanticipates that the Ross solution will increase productivity, enhance the flow of information and provide greater visibility into planning and scheduling functions, creating operational efficiencies and saving money.

Achilles USAis a $50 million make-to-order business with 20,000 parts in its inventory. As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), it is imperative that the company has timely access to the most current information and a consolidated view into the production process to ensure on-hand materials can cost-effectively match demand. Achilles USAwill consolidate its several disparate, legacy databases onto the Ross Systems platform, transitioning from manual, paper-based methods to an electronic system. This will increase data access, accuracy and timeliness and allow the company to shift focus from tactical efforts to higher-level business functions such as financial management, supply chain strategy and customer relationship-building.

“Choosing Ross is a win-win situation for us,” said Hal Rogers, management information systems manager for Achilles USA. “We are working with a proven company that understands the specific needs of chemical and plastics manufacturers, includingrecipe formulation, process control and quality management. Ross Systems’ technology is taking Achilles USA to the next level by creating a framework through which we can open both ends of the supply chain, increasing collaboration and improving information flow with our suppliers and customers.”

With its use of the iRenaissance ERP (enterprise resource planning) applications, Achilles USAwill support complex, attribute-based process planning and manufacturing, inventory control and costing and transportation requirements, improving collaboration, both internally and across the supply chain. Ross’ platform provides a solid foundation for future applications that rely on a collaboration-ready infrastructure, such as electronic bar-coding and remote access by the sales force.

The Ross solution will also increase overall customer service and satisfaction by automating Achilles USA’s scheduling process, ensuring on-time deliveries and enabling online order entry and tracking. Achilles USAwill leverage the Internet architecture that connects users to server-based applications, allowing partners of all sizes to access enterprise information through a Web browser.

“Ross is in the business of helping manufacturers like Achilles USAbring quality products to market while realizing efficiencies throughout their organization,” said J. Patrick Tinley, chairman and CEO of Ross Systems. “Our industry-specific solutions address the business challenges that our clients face in a practical manner, and we have proven our value through a demonstrated commitment to helping manufacturers maximize profitability, improve relationships with their customers and a! chieve operational excellence.”
