    Conveyor Orders Down in October

    Orders for conveyor equipment in October were down 6% from September 2009 and 17% from October 2008, according to a recent report from the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA).

    The 12-month index for October orders decreased 2% from the comparable index in September.

    Billed sales (shipments) were down 6% from September 2009 and 34% from October 2008, and the 12-month index for shipments declined 4% from September’s 12-month index.
