Franklin Express Inc., a regional motor transportation and dry storage warehouse services provider, has gone live with an application service provider

Franklin Express' logistics software platform is hosted at Delfour's Data Center, rather than installed at the company's headquarters, a solution that enables the company to employ a logistics system without the need to staff an IT department. The solution is comprised of the Enterprise Foundation integration platform, the WarehouseLogic automated warehouse management platform, the e-Vista web-enabled 24/7 supply chain visibility tool, the Active Desktop graphical user interface and single-screen control center, Supply Chain Event Manager, and d'Amigo, Delfour's data mining and alert activation tool.

Franklin Express occupies more than 336,000 square feet of owned warehouse space in Franklin, Ky. Its clientele includes such firms as Perfetti Van Melle, manufacturer of Mentos and other candy products, Tyco Adhesives, InnoPak Corporation, Thomas & Betts, Engineered Polymers, Loparex, Inc. and Weyerhaeuser. Besides receiving, warehousing and shipping inventory, the company provides a range of fulfillment services, among them kitting, unpacking and repacking. It began operations in 1961 as a motor carrier and it launched warehouse operations in 1988.
