EVERETT, Wash., August 2, 2004 - Intermec Technologies Corp. has been selected by Frito Lay and the PepsiCo Business Solutions Group (PBSG) to provide handheld computers, mobile printers and related equipment for its new "Precision Execution" direct store delivery selling system in North America, the companies said today.

The mobile computing system combines mobile computers, printers and communications capabilities into a premier product platform for the DSD industry. Deployment is scheduled to begin in first quarter 2005.

The system includes advanced mobile computing capabilities with powerful communications options, the latest battery and display technology, and state-of-the-art speed and memory capabilities that will allow Frito-Lay route personnel to provide "Precision Execution" tailored to each customer.

Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo Inc., makes and sells some of America's favorite snack brands, including Lay's potato chips, Ruffles potato chips, Doritos tortilla chips, Tostitos tortilla chips and Cheetos cheese-flavored snacks.

The company also offers a wide variety of low-fat, reduced fat and no-fat snacks like Baked! Doritos tortilla chips, Baked! Lay's potato crisps, Baked! Ruffles potato crisps, Baked! Tostitos tortilla chips, Ruffles Reduced Fat potato crisps, its WOW! line of snacks, and Rold Gold pretzels. The company also makes and sells Cracker Jack snacks, Quaker Chewy granola bars, Quaker Fruit and Oatmeal bars, and Quakes rice snacks.
