SHELTON, Conn.—G-Log, the leading provider of global logistics and transportation software, announced today that Halliburton’s Energy Services Group has selected the G–Log® Global Command and Control Center™ (GC3™) software as a foundation for a new global logistics initiative.
Halliburton’s Energy Services Group offers the world’s broadest array of products, services and integrated solutions for oil and gas exploration, development and production. After rolling out the initial site, the company plans to use the G-Log-powered logistics platform to manage and optimize all shipments to and from its facilities and affiliates worldwide — across all modes and all geographies— within a single system.
“Given the growing trend of globalization and extended supply chains, which, in turn, drives more complexity in logistics, companies need to consider a global approach to managing logistics to match, rather than only managing logistics by geography, by mode, or by individual business unit,” said Jeff Woods, principal analyst of Gartner. “By fusing business processes on a single platform that manages both orders and shipments across the global supply chain, companies can retire legacy systems and reduce the total cost of ownership. A fused platform also creates a single source of information for all partners on the logistics network to make better, collaborative decisions that enable companies to reduce inventory, lead times, and transportation costs.”
While the G-Log platform allows companies to leverage the end-to-end visibility and supply chain event management (SCEM) functionalities, the GC3 software will also help to reduce inventory and cycle times, lower freight costs, and improve service levels through better shipment planning and execution. GC3 will plan, execute, and provide visibility and SCEM processes to keep goods in motion and optimize the flow of materials across a global logistics network.
“Landing Halliburton as a customer marks one of our greatest achievements to date,” said David Cairns, CEO of G-Log. “Halliburton conducted a very thorough and comprehensive due diligence process, and we ultimately won the business because G-Log provides the single most comprehensive platform for keeping goods in motion across all modes and all geographies anywhere in the world.”
