Lowry To Supply Government RFID Solutions

A recent agreement allows Lowry to support the US warfighter by providing the government with focused logistics, total asset visibility (TAV) and integration of global supply chains using passive radio frequency identification (RFID).

Lowry Computer Products announced it has been selected as one of the vendors to provide Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) Electronic Product Code hardware, software, and professional services to the US Dept. of Defense (DoD), US Coast Guard, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Coalition Partners and other Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

The contract, which was awarded to Lowry Computer Products by the Army Contracting Agency Information Technology, E-Commerce, and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4), has a potential value in excess of $75 million based on this multiple award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lowry Computer Products can provide the Defense Logistics Agency, US Army, and any other government agency within the US DoD with the tools necessary to integrate pRFID infrastructures.

Lowry’s solution set includes Lowry RFID labels and domestic professional services, CACI International Inc. intercontinental professional services, Bartec/Motorola MC9090-RFID mobile computers, Zebra Technologies RFID printers, Sirit Infinity 510 stationary passive RFID readers and GlobeRanger iMotion Edgeware.

“The Department of Defense is determined to provide the most efficient and productive distribution supply chain possible. By implementing pRFID to support the warfighter, the DoD is leading the industry through the adoption of interoperable and cost efficient technologies to meet the challenges of this complex supply chain”, commented Steve Lowry, senior vice president of Lowry.
