Midnite Express Commits to 15,000 GPS Devices to Track Medical Shipments

June 10, 2010
Specialty courier Midnite Express (MNX) plans to purchase at least 15,000 GPS devices over the next three years to track medical and bio-pharmaceutical shipments.

GTX Corp, a provider of embedded GPS tracking location based services, and Midnite Express (MNX), a specialty courier headquartered in Los Angeles with 27 offices in eight countries, have entered into an exclusive three-year contract for GTX to deliver thousands of highly customized GPS tracking devices along with the GTX Corp tracking platform to the shipping company.

MNX has committed to buying and activating a minimum of 15,000 devices over the next three years and anticipates beginning deployment of 2,000 to 3,000 units sometime in the third or fourth quarter of 2010. MNX will initially use them to track medical and bio-pharmaceutical shipments and eventually roll them out for all their high-value, sensitive shipments.

MNX is making the investment to provide a trackable chain-of-custody solution by integrating real time GPS tracking empowered by GTX. The goal is to be able to address any inquiry about the location and path of the thousands of critical shipments MNX manages for its customers, explains Scott Cannon, CEO of MNX.
