WALTHAM, Mass. March 29, 2004 Pharmavite® LLC, the manufacturer of Nature Made® vitamins and minerals and other supplements designed to promote health, has selected Demantra Spectrum® to streamline operations and increase responsiveness to changes in market dynamics by synchronizing enterprise planning across sales, trade marketing, supply chain, finance and customer service.
Pharmavite has licensed and will implement Demantra's collaborative, web-based Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Demand Management, and Inventory Optimization solutions to empower all customer-facing business processes, as well as an internal sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
Demantra provides a truly integrated solution suite to meet both the company's trade promotion and supply chain requirements. Pharmavite evaluated many solutions as part of its strategy to implement a comprehensive S&OP process with customer-facing event and trade funds planning and analysis, collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment (CPFR®), and vendor managed inventory (VMI) initiatives. Pharmavite chose Demantra Spectrum to provide a single system that enables consistent planning across the organization.
The company also evaluated TPM solutions from other solution providers and selected Demantra because of Demantra Spectrum's strong collaboration, business process support and flexible integration capabilities that will enable fast deployment, easy and wide adoption, and will result in a very favorable ROI.
"Demantra's vision and unique collaboration and integrated planning technology, combined with its exemplary team, led us to select the firm. The strength of its marketing and supply chain planning solutions, including its TPM capabilities that surpassed competitive offerings, is critical for consumer goods companies like ours," said Mike Miller, vice president of information resources at Pharmavite, who leads demand management, category management and heads these initiatives for the company. "Having a single solution to address key supply chain processes tightly integrated with trade promotion and deductions management operations gives us a powerful environment to develop more accurate plans, deliver superior service and generate greater operational efficiencies."
Using Demantra Spectrum to analyze information from multiple data streams, including point-of-sale, promotion and syndicated data, Pharmavite expects to dramatically improve information visibility and consistency within the organization, increase SKU-level forecast accuracy, reduce inventory stock-outs and decrease planning cycle times. In addition, Demantra Spectrum's TPM solution will enable Pharmavite to improve the ROI of its trade marketing spend by synchronizing promotions with demand requirements and supply chain operations, as well as significantly reducing unresolved deductions.
"We are proud to have been chosen over the competition due to the depth and breadth of our solution suite, as well as our superior track record of delivering on commitments, and we look forward to helping Pharmavite achieve its company-wide collaboration, planning and trade promotion strategies," said Bill Seibel, CEO of Demantra. "Whether using Demantra Spectrum on its own, or as a complementary solution to existing enterprise applications, companies benefit from its powerful planning and analytics capabilities to overcome highly-sophisticated demand challenges and become more efficient, customer-responsive businesses."
