ABF Raises Rates by 6.9%

Following the lead of its competitor UPS Freight, less-than-truckload carrier ABF will revise its general rates and charges for its freight division. Rates will increase by about 6.9%, the same amount as UPS Freight’s rate hike, although the effect on specific lanes and shipments will vary.

This is the second time in less than a year that ABF has implemented a general rate increase.

Companies will be able to view and download the new rates on or before July 25 at the ABF website.

ABF provides guaranteed service for expedited or time-definite shipments via its TimeKeeper service. Regional shipping, handled via the carrier’s RPM Network, provides next-day and second-day shipping. The ABF system covers North America, with local service centers serving all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Globally, the carrier serves 250 ports in more than 130 countries.
