NYK Line to Increase Transatlantic Eastbound Rates

Rates affect general dry cargo out of U.S. ports to Northern Europe.

NYK Line will implement rate increases on certain classes of cargo for transatlantic eastbound shipments from U.S. ports to Northern Europe, moving under NYK Line independent tariffs and service contracts, effective October 1, 2013. The affected cargo: 

  • General dry cargo, except dried fruit & nuts moving via U.S. west coast ports--$80 per 20ft container / $100 per 40ft standard, 40ft high cube and 45ft container;
  • Dried fruit & nuts moving via U.S. west coast ports--$200 per 20ft container / $300 per 40ft standard and high cube container.

NYK Line states that these increases are necessary to offset increased operational costs.
