Third-party logistics provider (3PL) PBB Global has acquired Unicity Integrated Logistics Inc. (UIL) and Unicity Customs Services Inc. (UCS) for $42 million (Canadian), plus an additional payment of up to CAN$3 million based on UIL achieving certain financial targets.

UIL offers strategies and systems designed to minimize supply chain costs by providing international clients access to the Canadian market, while UCS is a Canadian customs broker. All told, Unicity has approximately 250 employees in more than 10 locations across North America, including major operations in Montreal, Mississauga and Winnipeg.

The purchase provides additional supply chain solution capabilities to PBB's logistics service offering through UIL's cross-border deconsolidation, consolidation and forwarding capabilities. UCS strengthens PBB's customs presence in Western Canada, and augments PBB's trade and regulatory service offering.
