It will be integrated into the operations of its subsidiary, Saia (www.saia.com). SCS’ other major subsidiary is the combination less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload carrier New Jersey-based Jevic. Located in Duluth, Ga., Saia presently serves the South, Southwest, Pacific Northwest and West. The expanded company will bring service to the Midwest and Plains states, as well, adding Clark Bros. Coverage in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Founded in 1936, Clark Bros. has 600 employees, 370 tractors and 600 trailers. “The acquisition expands the ability of Saia to offer seamless, top-quality LTL service to current and new customers in multiple regions, says Bert Trucksess, chairman, president and CEO of SCS Transportation.
