Informal dialogue between the Canadian National Railroad (CN) and the Canadian Auto Workers Union (CAW) were continuing despite official negotiations being broken off on March 10th.

CN withdrew all enhanced offers to the CAW (including the one of Feb. 27) and supplementary offers. CN is not discussing the contents of its offers. In their place, terms of the agreement reached by CN and the CAW on Jan. 23, 2004, remain on the table.

Roughly 5,000 workers represented by the CAW walked off the job on Feb. 20. Intermodal container moves fell 25% in the first full week of the strike.
