Members of AITAL saw freight volumes rise to 290,203,000 freight tonne kilometers (FTK) in the month of February. This was nearly four times the rate of increase for passenger volumes in the same period.

For the first two months of 2006, freight volumes were up 6.3% to 564,421,000 FTK versus 580,943,000 FTK in 2005.

By contrast, the passenger load factor was down 1.3% in February or 0.5% for the first two months.
